Writing Dabbles

free-writeIn my 2016 new years resolutions, I said that i would post pieces of my writing. From there, writing dabbles was born. Today I am posting my very first piece of writing. I’m nervous as all heck. I haven’t posted much of my writing in my past, so I am hoping that it’s okay. Please comment below.

This writing dabble came from a dream I had. Hope you like it.

She tilted her head and stared into his green eyes. He blinked but there was no missing the emotion in his eyes. “Don’t leave,” she whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Please don’t leave.”

“I have to.” He took a deep breath. “But I will be back. I promise.”

He slid his hands around her back and pulled her tight against his body. Every inch of them touching. His lips brushed hers. Gently and then hungry. It was nothing like any of their other kisses. This one sang of goodbye. Of not seeing each other again. He dipped her back, like they were dancing. She clung tightly to him. He kissed her again, their tongues swirling against each other and then brushing against each other. She couldn’t get enough of him. She wanted more and more and he kept on giving it, until everything around them disappeared and it was just them.

His lips disappeared from hers, and he eased her up until she was standing. His eyes never leaving hers. He was going. The kiss hadn’t convinced him to stay. He was going. She dropped her head, her shoulders sagging. He should be staying. Not going. She needed him.

He placed a finger under her chin and lifted. She resisted at first, refusing to meet his eyes. When their eyes did meet, she could see a slight wetness at the corners.

“I will come back.”

“You can’t promise that.”

“I can and I will.”

She shook her head. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back against him. “I will come back. Hold onto that.”

“Okay,” she said softly, not because she believed it, but because she knew that he needed to know that she did. He wasn’t coming back. Anyone who left, never came back. Never. He would go and she would never see him again. He would be gone, like her parents, her brother and his sister.

Let me know what you think, by posting a comment below.
